The World's Youth: 2013 Data Sheet

From the Population Reference Bureau, this data sheet gives statistics on youth by country and in a variety of development-related categories, some of which are indicators applicable to communication for development.
Examples include:
- Young People without Jobs, Education, or Training
- Progression to Secondary School
- Comprehensive Knowledge of HIV among Youth (ages 15-24)
- Attitude Toward Wife-Beating among Young Women (% who agree under certain circumstances) (aggregated as ages 15-19 and ages 20-24)
Other data includes: % of women using contraception; tobacco use among 13-15 year olds; HIV prevalence in 15 -24 year olds; fertility among 15-19 year olds; % of woman married by age 15 or by age 18; % of youth in a country's population and predicted percentages in 2050; employment statistics for youth; and school enrolment data. Particularly highlighted are the issues of teen pregnancy, prevalence of child marriage, adolescent fertility rates, employment and education, and knowledge of HIV.
