Suzie and Shafa Show: Discussion Group Facilitator’s Guide
SummaryText
The Suzie and Shafa Show is a radio programme that was created by Namibian youth for Namibian youth. It is broadcast each week over UNAM radio. Each 30-minute weekly show covers a topic of interest and importance to young men and women between the ages of 15 and 24.
Each programme has a particular theme, which is discussed throughout; there is a testimonial section, in which someone will tell their personal story that relates to the theme; a vox pops section, containing short interviews with young people around Windhoek (the capital of Namibia) to get their opinions on the topic; quiz questions, which give the listener the opportunity to answer questions related to the topic; and host dialogue, in which the two hosts discuss the theme and voice their perspectives. In addition, there is an ongoing drama - a murder mystery - and a section called “What’s Going Down” that gives youth ideas on how to spend their leisure time.
