Gender and Law Forum - Global
"Gender and Law" (begins 1 Feb. 1999) is a programme of The Development Forum, which is a public venue for online discussions on development issues sponsored by the World Bank on behalf of the entire development community.
Communication Strategies
The Gender and Law thematic group reflects the World Bank's increasing attention to the importance of gender and law for equitable and sustainable development. The thematic group aims to enhance the impact of Bank-financed interventions on men and women through increasing cutting-edge knowledge on gender and law issues; and to improve understanding of how the law can be used to promote gender equity.
Development Issues
Gender, political development, rights.
Key Points
Discussions in the Development Forum are open to participants from around the world. In order to assure that those with limited Internet access can participate, these dialogues are conducted by means of moderated email lists, archived to the Development Forum web site.
