The Communication Initiative
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Development Classifieds Services

 

Development Classifieds is an initiative of The Communication Initiative. Development Classifieds will include material for which organisations have paid for placement, including material that is not communication-specific. We will still feature communication-specific Classifieds within The CI website, but we will also include non-communication specific Classifieds within this new Development Classifieds initiative. We are initiating this process in order to develop some revenue streams that support the sustainability of The Communication Initiative (The CI). This complements and enhances the generous strategic and financial input by The Partner organisations, as well as the new CI Associates initiative.

 

Development Classifieds includes 6 separate streams of advertising:

 


Development Classifieds services will include:

 

  1. Time-limited posting on The CI’s Development Classifieds website.
  2. Inclusion within an issue of The CI’s Development Classifieds E-magazine (issued twice monthly to a subscriber base of 83,000 people [and growing], and an online user group of 2 million individual user sessions per annum).
  3. The opportunity to renew your posting at a reduced rate. Fees are listed below. You may post and pay for your posting all through our online facility.
