Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Hi folks - promoted by some of the Qs this morning could someone please send me or post here the full budget for the summit that we agreed. Not the one page pdf but the multi-tab excel. I could not find that final excel version. Thanks - Warren

Susan - after our call today I went to check the budget figures re translation etc in advance of contact Adelaida. I cannot find the final full excel version of the Summit budget as requested above. The one with all of the Secretariat org tabs etc. If you could please send asap that would be excellent. Thanks - Warren

Susan - Hi you had asked for feedback re the criteria for the pool of funds to cover honorarium and travel for steering committee people requestng support. My top of the head criteria would include:

1. Have been active in the Summit planning process

2. From a small organisation with limited budget for support.

3. From a non-OECD country

4. Organisation they manage was initiated and developed internal to that country

5. Agree to an on-the-ground task in Nusa Dua at the event

6, Agree to submit a blog with their main take-aways from Nusa Dua Summit for advancing this field of work

7. Support is balanced across regions.

Thanks - Warren
